The Client's Challenge
As a long-established golf club from Cleckheaton, the site comprised a number of different buildings constructed and altered over several decades. This included the main clubhouse, basement areas, maintenance facilities and staff accommodation, all of which required inspection.
The club needed an asbestos survey that could be completed around daily operations without disrupting members, visitors or staff. They also required clear guidance on any asbestos-containing materials identified, ensuring the club remained compliant with asbestos regulations and could effectively manage any risks moving forward.
Our Approach
We carried out a full asbestos management survey across all accessible areas of the site, including the clubhouse, basement, staff accommodation and greenkeepers' buildings. Particular attention was given to service areas, plant spaces and older building elements where asbestos-containing materials are commonly encountered.
During the survey, samples were taken from a range of suspect materials and submitted for laboratory analysis. The inspection identified asbestos-containing materials within the property, including materials associated with the boiler room and other historic building elements. Each identified material was assessed for condition, accessibility and potential risk, allowing us to provide tailored management recommendations.
Following completion of the inspection and laboratory analysis, a detailed asbestos survey report, asbestos register and management recommendations were issued to the client.
